FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
What are your fees?
My fee for a 50-minute therapy session is $200. I occasionally reduce my fee for patients who are unable to afford the full-cost. If you fit into this category, I'd be happy to discuss a sliding scale option with you.
What is your cancellation policy?
Since I am reserving your appointment time in my schedule you are charged the regular session fee for appointments that are missed or cancelled with less than 24 hours notice. You should note that insurance companies rarely reimburse for missed or late-cancelled session.
Do you accept insurance?
I accept Quest insurance. For all other insurance plans I am considered an "out-of-network" provider. This means that clients can submit my bill for services to their insurance company to seek whatever reimbursement their insurance provider allows based on their plan. I recommend contacting your insurance provider to learn whether your plan offers reimbursement for out-of-network psychotherapy services, and if so, how much they reimburse, and whether there is a deductible or limit on the number of psychotherapy sessions.
What are your policies regarding confidentiality with child and adolescent clients and their parents?
Privacy and confidentiality are the basis for an effective therapeutic relationship, and this includes with minors. In order for kids to express themselves fully in session it is important that they trust I won't be reporting back to their parents about everything they say or do.
Since, in the case of younger kids, it is important for parents to understand what's happening with their child I will share general information about the child's treatment and suggestions about what could be helpful based on my understanding of the child. With adolescents, it is important I maintain their confidence and not share any information they disclose without their permission. In some situations I will work more closely with parents if it is indicated and all parties agree. With both children and adolescents I will of course notify parents in the case of any serious safety issues.
